About This Journal
Established in 1971, the Journal of Legislation (JLEG) is the oldest law review at Notre Dame Law School after the Notre Dame Law Review. For over five decades, JLEG has fostered productive dialogues on pressing legislative and policy matters. JLEG is one of the few legislative law reviews in the country and is a member of the National Conference of Law Reviews.
JLEG publishes pieces concerning legislative and public-policy matters, many of which discuss specific statutory and regulatory language that federal, state, and local legislative bodies could enact, amend, or repeal. Past authors include Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dick Gephardt, Congressman Peter King, Governor Michael Dukakis, Senator Chris Dodd, and Senator Rick Santorum.
