Abstract
The article presents an overview of land use regulations and equal terms provision under the U.S. Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA). It informs that the RLUIPA is limited to two areas of concern including land use and penal institutions. It mentions that land use regulations must treat religious assemblies or institutions on equal terms basis. It discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's Free Exercise jurisprudence in order to understand the background of RLUIPA.
