  • Francisco Urbina presented a paper, "The Force of Separation of Powers," at the Public Law Discussion Group at the University of Oxford last week.
  • Diane Desierto spoke last week at the U.S. Naval War College conference, “International Law and Conflict at Sea.” She discussed China’s exclusionary assertions of marine environmental protection jurisdiction in the South China Sea.
  • Rick Garnett and Sherif Girgis participated in a interdisciplinary workshop on law, religion, and equality last week at the University of Oxford.
  • The Religious Liberty Clinic was mentioned in a Tulsa World article, "Catholic charter school revised application to get Monday vote by state governing board in Oklahoma," about the Clinic's work with the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the Diocese of Tulsa.
  • Last week Notre Dame hosted the 2023 Big Ten Plus News and Marketing Directors Conference. Max Gaston was one of the speakers on a panel about Podcasting.

  • Last week Carlos Bichet Nicoletti defended his J.S.D. dissertation, “Great Expectations: The Limits and Possibilities of Restorative Justice in International Criminal Law — Reparations, Participation, and Complementarity Reimagined.”

Alumni News

  • Exoneration Justice Clinic opens doors for graduates to become ‘a different kind of lawyer’ Since its origin as the Wrongful Conviction Externship in fall 2018 through its establishment as a full legal clinic in fall 2020, the Exoneration Justice Clinic has worked to train students on how to investigate and litigate wrongful conviction cases. Many of these students have chosen to build on their clinical training and experience by pursuing careers in the criminal justice system. Read how some of the Exoneration Justice Clinic alumni have built on their experience at the clinic by joining other wrongful conviction organizations after graduation.
