  • Mary Ellen O'Connell spoke on a panel about the governance of AI in the military domain at the 2024 Responsible AI in the Military Domain Summit (REAIM) in Seoul last week.
  • Derek Muller was quoted in an article in The Economist about the possibility of contests to November's presidential election.
  • Diane Desierto wrote a chapter on "The role of human rights in investment awards" in a recently published book, "The Award in International Investment Arbitration."
  • Rick Garnett co-authored a City Journal article with Stephanie Barclay arguing that religious freedom laws fail to undermine abortion restrictions.

  • Free Exercise: America's Story of Religious Liberty Documentary Screening, 3:30 p.m., McCartan Courtroom, For the University of Notre Dame's Constitution Day event, a complementary screening of the new documentary film Free Exercise: America's Story of Religious Liberty. The film highlights the religious freedom struggles of faith communities, from colonial times to the present day, and features interviews with experts including Marcus Cole and Rick Garnett. Rick Garnett and Justin Petrisek (de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture) will moderate a discussion following the screening.

  • The Notre Dame Exoneration Justice Clinic will celebrate the exoneration of our client, Anthony Bedolla, on Friday, September 20th at noon in Kelly Park on Howard Street. Staff and students, led by Jimmy Gurulé will welcome Anthony home after 14 years of wrongful imprisonment. All are welcome to attend!
