Notre Dame Law School's Clyne Chair in judicial ethics was established with a gift from Judge James J. Clyne Jr., who graduated from Notre Dame in 1945 with a bachelor's degree in economics and from Cornell University with a law degree in 1948. The goal is to attract distinguished members of the judiciary to provide teaching and lectures on the ethics of litigation within the judicial process.
