Abstract
The article focuses on the failure of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordability Act (PPACA), the health care reform signed into law in March 2010, to respect human life borne out of the abortion-funding aspects of the bill. The provisions of the Hyde Amendment and its vulnerability to political pressure are presented. Several bills that prohibit federal funding of abortions are discussed including the Capps Amendment and House Resolution (HR) 3962.
