Description

Wednesday, April 23, 2025 | 5:00 PM | Eck Hall of Law, McCartan Courtroom

Dean Marcus Cole will lead a discussion with two career Department of Justice prosecutors with almost 30 years investigating and litigating cases of racketeering, bribery, and fraud committed by elected politicians of both parties — including as co-lead trial attorneys in United States v. Donald J. Trump. This event will dive into their career trajectories, perspectives on prosecuting public corruption and “weaponization” of the law, and the unique experience of investigating, and then being publicly fired by the President of the United States.

Join us for a fireside chat with J.P. Cooney, Former Deputy Special Counsel / Chief, Fraud, Public Corruption, & Civil Rights Section, and Molly Gaston, Former Senior Assistant Special Counsel / Associate Deputy Attorney General.
