John Copeland Nagle was a beloved professor at Notre Dame Law School until his untimely passing in 2019. His research integrated his lifelong faith in Jesus Christ with his passion for the environment. To honor his memory, his family has endowed the John Copeland Nagle Award for Student Writing in Environmental Law, a $5,000 prize which will be presented each year to the author of the best paper written in the field of environmental law by a student at Notre Dame Law School. Papers must be submitted by April 15, 2026.
