Movie Screening and Panel Discussion of Three Chaplains

Muslim chaplains in the military not only uphold the First Amendment as part of their duty but also view it as deeply personal. Chaplains Rafael Lantigua, Khallid Shabazz, and Saleha Jabeen pledge allegiance to the Constitution, ensuring every service member can freely practice their faith. Despite their years of military service, prejudice against their beliefs persists. Instead of blending in, they courageously represent Islam within the U.S. military, facing challenges and risks. "Three Chaplains" delves into their experiences, highlighting how they teach and share their faith nationwide. Despite facing accusations and disapproval, they rise to senior military ranks, echoing the struggles of past minority service members and advocating for military equality. Join us for a screening and discussion of the film with its Director David Washburn, Producer Razi Jafri, Army Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Wallace, and Notre Dame's Director of Veteran and Military Affairs Kenneth Heckel.
