The Patricia O'Hara Distinguished Lecture in Law & Business Lecture and Book Discussion

Speaker and author, Professor Robert B. Thompson, is the Peter P. Weidenbruch, Jr. Professor of Business Law at Georgetown Law. He teaches courses in the corporate and securities area, including mergers and limited liability. In 2023, Oxford University Press published "A History of Securities Law in the Supreme Court," co-authored by Adam C. Pritchard and Thompson.

The book is a comprehensive history of modern U.S. securities law and illustrates the key jurisprudential changes at the Supreme Court since the New Deal. The authors use the justices' internal memos, notes, and preliminary drafts to tell the story of how they decided the cases.
