  • September is Classical Music Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, National Courtesy Month and Better Breakfast Month.
  • There will be a full moon on Friday, September 16, and it is the Harvest Moon, the fullest of the year.
  • The Autumnal Equinox will be Thursday, September 22.
  • Band-Aids were invented in the month of September.
  • September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Aye, matey!
  • September is the only month with the same number of letters in its name as the number of the month: it is the ninth month and has nine letters.
  • On an average September day, more babies are born in the US than on an average day in any other month.

Staff Spotlight - Heidi Baguer

Heidi Baguer joined the CDO on August 22. If you haven't met her yet, stop in and say hi!

  • Favorite sport to watch: Whatever sport my kids are currently doing.
  • Favorite beverage: Had I been asked this a month ago I would have said wine. However, last time we were in Charleston I had a Moscow Mule for the first time. Definitely my new favorite!
  • Major pet peeve: When people take their shoes off when they're on a plane or train. Not really a foot person, so .... ick.
  • If I had two extra hours in my day, I would ... Cook. I love cooking new things.
  • If I could buy anything right now regardless of price, it would be ... plane tickets for my family to go to Africa and go on safari.
  • If you could be an animal ... I'd be a dog in my house. Eat, sleep (preferably in a sunny spot), get a treat from the butcher every once in a while, get snuggled with regularly ..... I could totally do that. It's a pretty good life.
  • Something fun about you most people don't know. When my family goes to the beach together every summer my sister, husband and I speak with British accents the entire time. Cheerio Heidi!
