- Diane Desierto's chapter about the UNHRC's jurisprudence from 2022-23 surrounding authoritarian regimes and emergency measures was published last week in the 2023 Global Yearbook of International Law and Jurisprudence.
- Barry Cushman was on Faculti Net to discuss how judicial reforms proposed during Franklin Roosevelt's administration could shape the conversation about Supreme Court reform today.
- Last week, Nicole Garnett co-authored an article for City Journal about Loffman v. California Department of Education.
- Lloyd Mayer was quoted in Religion Unplugged and The Nevada Independent about IRS rules for nonprofit organizations engaging in political advocacy.
- Fr. John Paul Kimes was quoted in a Catholic Review article about the use of "Catholic" in the names of lobbying groups.

Student & Alumni News
- It was great to see so many alumni at our annual Homecoming Weekend on October 11-12. More than 500 alumni and guests traveled to campus to join in the festivities.
- Approximately forty classmates from the Class of 1984 returned to campus to celebrate their 40th reunion!
- The Black Law Students Association hosted a fireside chat, “Still in the Game,” with panelists Max Siegel ‘86, ‘92 J.D., USA Track & Field; Dianhann Billings-Burford, Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality; and Ndidi Massay ‘93 J.D., CBS Sports. Moderated by Jackie Wilson ‘07 J.D., BSE Global.

Fr. Bill Daily and Fr. Kimes will be giving a talk on the Sacrament of Confession, exploring its practical and biblical aspects. This presentation will be beneficial for those unfamiliar with Confession or those wishing to refresh their understanding of this important sacrament. - Law and Economics Workshop: Guglielmo Briscese (University of Chicago) Targeting Behavioral Change Interventions: An Experiment on Debiasing Savings for College, 12:30 p.m., Faculty Meeting Room

John Evans, Tata Chancellor’s Chair of Social Sciences and Co-Director of the Institute of Practical Ethics, University of California, San Diego, will speak on Will AI Transform the Definition of a Human? Lessons from the Study of Human Biotechnology Javier Prades, Professor of Systematic Theology at the Universidad San Dámaso in Madrid and member of the International Theological Commission, will speak on The Challenges of Digital Technologies in the Change of Epoch. - Confession at the Law School, 12:00 - 2:30 p.m., Eck 2145 and Eck 2146
Fr. Bill Daily, Fr. Kimes, and other priests from Notre Dame and the South Bend area will be present to offer the Sacrament of Confession. Priests will also be available during this time for non-Catholics who wish to speak with a spiritual advisor. The sacrament will be offered from 12:30-2:30. Faculty and staff, please attend whenever works best! Concurrent with the Confession times, there will be Adoration in the chapel from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
