NDLS is kicking off the new year with a club called Legal Voices for Children (a resurgence of a past student initiative), made possible by the leadership and support of Professor Christina Stone who runs the Special Education Clinic. The CASA Director will be joining us to share CASA’s work and concrete ways students can help.
CASA volunteers are trained advocates appointed in abuse and neglect (CHINS) cases, and in Indiana they have full party status—meaning they can attend hearings, obtain relevant records, and make recommendations to the court on a child’s behalf.
